colourful glass and silver bracelet

Ceardannan are myself, Jeanie Munro, my husband Ewan and my daughter Siobhan.
While Ewan and I were travelling around Crete in Greece for some years in our old Mercedes motorhome we began making jewellery and since returning to Scotland have decided the time is right to open a website selling our products. We will be selling online and at craft fairs.

Ceardannan, pronounced ‘Keearstannan’ was the name given to the itinerant travelling people from the far North of Scotland. These craftsmen and women were a respected part of the Scottish population and were resilient and industrious, doing what was necessary to make a living using their skills.
My grandfather Alexander Mackay travelled over long distances with his father. They had a cart selling the bird cages he and his grandmother Lizzie Donaldson had painstakingly made by hand. I like to think I carry on some of this sense of adventure and enterprise in my work.

I now have a blog at jeaniesblog.ceardannan.co.uk
