Ceardannan are myself, Jean Munro, my husband Ewan and my daughter Siobhan Robertson.
We started Ceardannan two years ago, making and selling high quality handcrafted jewellery. I have had a love of artisan lampwork beads for a few years now and these have often been the focal point and inspiration for my work.
Over the past year I have been making my own lampwork beads in my small studio in West Lothian, Scotland. It has been very satisfying to make jewellery wholly from materials and components we have made ourselves. Much of our work now features my own lampwork beads, Siobhan's chainmaille and pmc and Ewan's wirework.
My lampwork beads are available for sale to other jewellery makers.
If you do not make your own jewellery, we also accept commisions to make your chosen beads into pendants, necklaces, bracelets or earrings. Contact us to discuss ideas and prices.
Lampwork beads are made by winding molten glass around a steel mandrel then decorating with a variety of techniques. The beads are then annealled in a digitally controlled kiln overnight and are then cleaned ready for use.
